Back Creek

In spite of adverse weather and the possibility of storms, my friend Theresa decides to come as planned, which doesn’t surprise me. She is an adventurous person who climbs mountains, swims with dolphins, and travels to Hawaii even when a hurricane is predicted and a volcano erupts. Wind would never stop her from coming out here, especially on her maiden trip to the Ridge. We plan to hike down to the bottomland and Back Creek, which borders most of the forty-eight acre lot and was frequented by Joan’s husband, who loved to fish.  (p104)
