Joan's deer 3.16.15Joan took this great picture from her car as she and Mombo drove out Monday morning. The deer looks like she is waving goodbye to them. It brings back fond memories of my days living on the Ridge where deer, raccoon, bobcats and feathered friends were plentiful. Another sign of spring comes from the spring peepers. These amphibians begin emitting their familiar sleigh-bell-like chorus right around the beginning of spring. The mid-March crescendo of nighttime whistles from amorous males is a sign that winter is over. Joan captured their concert on her iphone. You can hear last year’s concert at the video link below. Mother nature is telling us that spring has sprung — every green sprout erupting from the ground and each red bud forming on the weeping cherry trees say so. ENJOY!
